Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Procurement Excellence & Sustainability to join their team. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise in category management, sourcing, purchasing, supplier and contract management, and sustainability activities.As a member of the Procurement Leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the procurement function. Your main responsibilities will include developing procurement strategies, policies, and governance frameworks, as well as driving capability development within the team. You will also have oversight of the supply chain's activities, ensuring alignment with the organisation's strategic themes and sustainability goals.Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of procurement strategies and policies
  • Drive capability development within the procurement function
  • Oversee the activities of the supply chain, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
  • Enhance the reputation of the procurement function through networking and building value-adding relationships
  • Provide strategic insight and actionable proposals based on external best practises and innovation
  • Improve supply chain resilience and efficiency to maximise business benefits
  • Ensure talent, processes, and systems are in place to deliver effective procurement outcomes
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to achieve common goals

Skills and qualifications:

  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate others
  • Passion for sustainability goals and leveraging technology and innovation for efficiency
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presenting to diverse audiences
  • Deep knowledge of procurement tools, techniques, and processes such as Source to Pay (S2P) and contract management
  • Commercial awareness and strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and certifications, such as CIPS
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
