We are currently working with a well-regarded social housing provider in West Sussex assisting them in recruiting a dedicated Older Persons Support Officer for a full-time, temporary position. Candidates must be able to drive, have a clean Enhanced DBS (within the last 3 years), and relevant experience supporting older people, either in a support worker or housing officer capacity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote independence and well-being for older residents receiving the support service.

  • Take appropriate action in cases of declining health or self-sufficiency.

  • Sustain tenancies by liaising with support agencies and networks.

  • Ensure all health and safety requirements are met.

  • Encourage resident participation within the sheltered housing community.

  • Coordinate with healthcare and social services to meet individual resident needs.

  • Monitor and help implement care packages, updating providers when circumstances change.

  • Represent the organisation at resident-related case conferences.

  • Guide residents on safe and effective use of housing equipment, including alarm systems.

  • Support resident involvement in scheme activities and communal life.

Requirements:
  • Experience working with older adults in a housing or support role.

  • Ability to drive and travel locally.

  • Enhanced DBS check (within the past 3 years).
