Due to company growth, gap personnel are recruiting an experienced Transport Planner to join an existing dynamic team at our clients Purfleet depot, recognised as a leading haulier specialising in fuels and specialty chemicals.

Salary: £32,000-£38,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Type: Full-time, permanent postion
Shift: Shell shift pattern with rotating day and night shifts, including weekends.

  • Week 1: 3 days (10.5 hrs and flexible)
  • Week 2: 4 days (10.5 hrs and flexible)
  • Week 3: 5 Nights

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the full delivery operation, from order acceptance to invoicing.
  • Input daily KPIs, resolve delivery and collection issues, and handle all paperwork.
  • Effectively manage a demanding transport plan, scheduling next-day and same-day deliveries for multiple clients.
  • Ensure adherence to all transport legislation.
  • Promote and maintain strong health and safety standards.
  • Monitor fleet maintenance needs, coordinating with the Fleet Department.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with legal, technical, and industry best practices.
  • Liaise with customers to provide tailored support and solutions.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Previous experience in a Transport Planner role is essential (experience in the fuels industry is a plus).
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand transport office.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of WTD, Drivers Hours, Tachographs, and relevant transport legislation.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
  • Proficient in IT, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and CRM systems.
