Simple Recruitment are looking for a Cardboard Engineer for our client based in Radstock to join their team on a permanent basis.
The art of engineering sheets of card into a 3D sustainable design is an innovative and lightweight solution for companies looking reduce their carbon footprint. As a Cardboard Engineer, you will have a huge impact in designing and creating sustainable print and signage solutions.
The JobIn a nutshell, you will be developing creative designs and constructing models, props, displays, and furniture using cardboard and other sustainable materials. The products and designs that you develop will need to be functional, aesthetic, and meet specific requirements.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure all constructions are structurally sound, stable, and durable.
- Liaise with multiple teams to achieve project goals.
- Source, manage, and optimise the use of cardboard and other sustainable materials while minimising waste.
- Utilise cutting tools, adhesives, and other equipment to create precise and high-quality outputs.
- Innovate and solve design challenges by experimenting with new techniques and materials.
- Ensure all cardboard designs and constructions meet quality standards and are delivered on time.

Key Requirements:
- Knowledge of structural design and engineering principles.
- Proficiency in tools such as box cutters, rulers, hot glue guns, and cutting mats.
- Experience with CAD software or other design tools is desirable.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Salary£35k - £40k per annum.
Hours37.5 hours per week with overtime. You must be flexible depending on when jobs come in.
