Join a leader in developing innovative inspection camera systems for the Drainage, Security, and Military sectors. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer proficient in SolidWorks to contribute to our dynamic product development team.
- SolidWorks Experience is a must
- Electro-mechanical experience is ideal
Day-to-day of the role:
- Design mechanical components for new projects, transforming concepts into cost-effective and functional designs.
- Customize existing designs to meet specific requirements.
- Ensure high accuracy and attention to detail in all design aspects.
- Manage complete design packages including CAD models, detailed drawings, assembly drawings, Bills-of-Materials, and related documentation.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure components meet design specifications.
- Support production teams by providing detailed design support and troubleshooting during the manufacturing process.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in designing machined components.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD and associated documentation.
- Ability to prepare design concepts, dimension and geometrically tolerance part drawings (to BS8888), and produce assembly drawings.
- Knowledge of material selection appropriate for design specifications.
- Experience in creating detailed Bill-of-Materials.
- Value engineering and analysis experience is beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse problems and drive solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent planning skills with the ability to set and achieve realistic targets in a project-based environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, hands-on approach, and a desire to be involved throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- A willingness to listen and incorporate new ideas and concepts.
- Excellent attention to detail and a right-first-time attitude.
- BEng Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
