Reed is representing a client in Bath who is seeking a dedicated Stores Manager. This role involves overseeing the issuance of store materials and maintaining stock levels, including handling purchase orders and receiving goods. The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing Director and play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our stores department.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Oversee the receipt and checking of deliveries, ensuring accuracy and safety, including off-loading/loading with a fork lift truck.
- Manage the storage of goods in designated sections of the stores efficiently.
- Oversee the management of picking lists of items required by the factory and installation operatives.
- Coordinate the delivery of items to site locations as needed.
- Handle purchase orders and maintain accurate records.
- Conduct regular stocktakes to ensure inventory levels are maintained and discrepancies are addressed promptly.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar role within a stores or warehouse environment.
- Proficient in using a fork lift truck with a valid operator’s license.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills to manage multiple tasks and a team.
- Excellent communication skills for effective liaison with various teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
