Job Title: Machine Operator / Lathe / Metal Shaping Machine
Location: Rainham, South East
Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 (depending on experience)
Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
- Friday: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Are you an experienced Machine Operator looking for your next challenge? Mechanical Based in Rainham, we are a leading manufacturer of galvanised steel ducting. We're looking for a skilled Machine Operator to join our workshop team.
Key Responsibilities:- Operating a large spiral ducting machine (similar to a lathe).
- 50/50 split between machine operation and general warehouse duties.
- Servicing and cleaning the machine.
- Driving a forklift truck (training provided if no current license).
- Assisting with fine-tuning and adjustments on the machine as required.
- Previous machine operating experience, ideally in a metalworking environment.
- Candidates with 10+ years of experience may be considered for the top salary bracket of £30,000.
- Ability to perform general warehouse duties.
- Forklift license (advantageous but not essential - training provided).
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail for machine adjustments.
- Salary: £26,000 - £30,000, depending on experience.
- Holiday: 20 days + 8 bank holidays, increasing by one day per year up to a maximum of 25 days.
- Pension: Company pension scheme.
- Safety: Full uniform and safety equipment provided (boots, masks, visors, gloves).
- Facilities: Free parking on site and access to a café on the business park for lunch.
- Training: Full training provided on forklift operation and machine maintenance if required.
