Manual Machinist

Location: Ramsgate

Salary: 25,000 - 30,000

A leading maintenance and repair facility with a strong reputation in the aerospace industry is seeking a skilled Manual Machinist.

Job Purpose:

To perform and support the overhaul and salvage of aircraft components within the Manufacturing Precision Business Unit Machine Shop.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct machining tasks to support aircraft component overhauls, including Precision Grinding, Honing, Boring, Milling, Turning, CNC Turning, and Bush/Bearing Fitting.
  • Assist in monitoring stock levels of bonded metal and consumables as needed.
  • Support improvement initiatives within the Manufacturing Precision Business Unit Machine Shop.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Foster a culture of Continuous Improvement and maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Assist with maintenance of plant and equipment.

Required Skills:

  • GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • Strong technical abilities and an eye for detail
  • A proactive approach to improvement and quality assurance
