Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our client's team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for various civil and groundworks projects. This role requires a thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review Project Documentation: Analyse blueprints, specifications, and other project documentation to prepare time, cost, material, and labour estimates.
  • Cost Analysis: Assess the cost-effectiveness of projects or services, tracking actual costs as the project develops.
  • Consultation: Work closely with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Site Visits: Conduct site visits to gather necessary data, such as the number of workers, equipment, and materials needed.
  • Data Management: Use software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Presentation: Present estimates to clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Supplier Coordination: Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Adjust Estimates: Adjust estimates when there are changes in the scope of a project.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in estimating for civil and groundworks projects.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
