As a Council Licencing Officer, you will have the opportunity to:

Play a vital role in upholding our community's standards and ensuring businesses follow regulations.

Review and process licence applications, assessing compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines.

Conduct inspections and investigations to identify any breaches and take appropriate enforcement actions.

Prepare reports and recommendations for licencing committees and sub-committees.

Provide advice and guidance to businesses and the public, promoting compliance and good practise.

Collaborate with various stakeholders, including colleagues, external agencies, and the public.

Keep up-to-date with changes in legislation and best practises in licencing procedures.

Key requirements:

A solid understanding of licencing legislation and procedures.

Demonstrable experience in a similar role, ensuring compliance with regulations.

Strong investigative and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to provide clear advice and guidance.

The ability to work independently, yet effectively, as part of a diverse team.

Proactive and enthusiastic attitude, with a passion for delivering high-quality results.
