Bookkeeper

We are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to oversee our financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our financial activities. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in finance, looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Sales Ledger:
    • Raising and posting invoices.
    • Factoring debtors to outsourced credit control provider.
    • Matching receipts.
    • Reconciliation and allocations.
  • Purchase Ledger:
    • Processing purchase invoices for approval.
    • Processing credit card purchases.
    • Weekly processing of purchase ledger payments.
    • Reconciliation and allocations.
  • Month End Process:
    • Producing the management accounts in a timely manner.
  • Bank:
    • Daily bank reconciliations.
    • Managing treasury deposits.
  • Payroll:
    • Resolving payroll anomalies for hourly staff.
    • Compiling monthly payroll adjustments for outsourced payroll bureau.
    • Generating the monthly payroll journal.
  • Audit and Regulatory:
    • Liaising with auditors and tax advisors.
    • Managing CIS returns, RHI energy scheme returns, and VAT returns.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a varied finance role.
  • Strong understanding of management accounts.
  • Full or part qualified or qualified by experience.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills.
