About the Role: Local Authority in s Digital and IT Service is seeking a dynamic and experienced Category Manager to oversee the re-procurement of key digital and IT services. This role involves managing the following towers: End User Workspace, Hosting, Managed Network, Unified Communications, Security Operations, Telephony, and Wide Area Network (WAN).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse industry trends and data to inform strategies
  • Develop long-term strategies for product categories
  • Create exit strategies for unsuccessful vendors
  • Foster strong relationships with vendors to secure better pricing and quality
  • Ensure competitive pricing and quality of services
  • Collaborate with in-house teams and other councils
  • Profile revenue budgets for categories
  • Define key performance indicators
  • Lead negotiations on added value through social value and digital inclusion
  • Design and implement supply chain governance

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a category manager or similar role
  • Solid knowledge of public procurement regulations
  • Proficiency in data analysis and forecasting methods
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Analytical and strategic thinking abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
