We are currently looking for a Principal Commercial Manager for our government client. This Principal Commercial Manager role is hybrid, based between 2 days in the office/on site in the Reading area, and the remainder of the week working remotely.

The contract for the Principal Commercial Manager position is for 18-months with potential to extend, operating inside IR35.

Security Clearance: Security Check ("SC Clearance")

This role is inside IR35 - Due to the service of the role, it will now be based on an Umbrella solution.

Role and experience required:

  • Worked in demolition background/space (high hazards management)
  • Proven ability to manage and oversee multiple tasks or workstreams
  • Extensive experience in creating and executing sourcing strategies across multiple programmes
  • Responsible for ensuring that sourcing strategies align with the strategic goals of the organisation and drive value in terms of quality, cost, and risk management
  • Strategy Development and Implementation
  • Skilled in selecting between various contracting models
  • Development and implementation of performance regimes that effectively measure and monitor vendor performance throughout the lifecycle of the contract
  • Strong understanding of the commercial landscape to make informed decisions about product selection and vendor partnership, identifying the right commercial product to go out to the commercial chain
  • Proven experience in strategizing and executing how to approach the market for sourcing, including identifying key suppliers, determining the best sourcing approach, and preparing the necessary documents
  • Responsible for ensuring that the underlying infrastructure, systems, and tools are in place to support the sourcing strategies and market engagement process.
  • Responsible for fostering a collaborative team culture, encouraging accountability, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Work closely with the procurement team to ensure alignment between the sourcing strategy and procurement processes.
  • People Management - foster a positive, high-performance environment where team members are empowered to contribute and grow.
