Job Title: Commissioning Manager
Location: Reading Area - 2+ days on site per week, pending business requirements.
Hours per Week: 40
Pay Rate: £67.89 per hour - Umbrella
Contract: 12 Months

Commissioning Manager needed on contract to join an established engineering consultancy in the Reading area.
You will oversee the entire lifecycle of systems, from planning and commissioning to testing and handover, Verification & Validation. Your role ensures that facilities are ready for future operations and meet required capabilities.
What the role of the Commissioning Manager entails:
Some of the main duties of the Commissioning Manager will include:
- Author the facility commissioning strategy, and commissioning plans in line with work breakdown structure
- Produce the commissioning schedule in line with project master integrated schedule
- Verification and Validation of commissioning activities and documentation.
- Collaborate with Suppliers, Site Operations, Nuclear Services, the Operational Control Centre, and other commissioning teams to foster strong cross-disciplinary relationships.
- Report to the Operational Readiness Manager, achieving key project milestones and providing progress updates in alignment with project requirements and deliverables.
- Witness Factory Acceptance Testing, Setting to Work, and Site Acceptance Testing in both inactive and active commissioning phases.Manage test failure resolution.
- Understand the requirements of Commissioning procedures and ONR License Condition 21 Commissioning and ensure the commissioning framework developed, demonstrates compliance.
- Prepare and present regular commissioning progress updates.
- Management of changes to commissioning schedules, resources, and forecasts
What experience you need to be the successful Commissioning Manager:
- Honours Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent demonstration of competence through skills, knowledge, and experience.
- Demonstrable experience of developing Strategies for Testing, commissioning, and generation of handover plans.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with ability to communicate complex and diverse processes and procedures effectively
- Demonstrable experience of verification and validation, (the V model)
- Experience in the nuclear industry or other highly regulated industry.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-disciplinary teams.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
