Credit Controller

Ongoing interim position - initially for 6 months, to look after the UK and EU ledgers - very high likelihood of extension beyond the 6 months

Reading based - 1-2 days per week in the office, with the rest working from home

£14 - £17ph + holiday pay

We are delighted to be working exclusively with our high profile, IT client, who have a requirement for an experienced, UK Credit Controller to join them on a temporary basis for an initial period of around 6 months, with a very high likelihood of extension. This offers a superb opportunity to work on some of their key accounts and help them in maintaining a challenging and busy UK and EU ledger. You must be fluent in English, reside in the UK and be able to commute to our client once per week (the rest home based).

You will report to the Credit Manager and working closely with the Financial Controller, and you will be working with a highly personable and experienced UK and European collections team of 5, where your responsibilities as the Credit Controller will include:

  • Daily responsibility for the collection of cash across a ledger of around 300-400 live accounts, handling a busy UK and EU ledger
  • Reconciling bank accounts
  • Maintain and reduce the DSO where possible
  • Working to company policy and timescales regarding outstanding debt
  • Being confident in suggesting solutions for difficult and challenging accounts
  • Working collaboratively within the Credit Team and the wider Accounts team, as well as their UK Customer Services team
  • Suggesting improvements for procedures and process
  • Providing reports for management on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Ensuring there is support and cover for other team members and departments as and when required

The ideal profile for the successful Credit Controller will include:

  • Fluency in English (essential) - any additional European languages would be useful but not essential
  • Previous Credit Control experience is essential
  • Superb communication skills - both written and verbal
  • The ability to work un-aided with a pro-active, personal, engaging approach
