CAD Design Engineer
Location: Reading
An excellent opportunity for an experienced 3D and 2D CAD Designer Engineers has arisen onsite with one of our clients for an ongoing Mechanical &Electrical package in a nuclear environment near Reading.
This role is placed within Nuclear industry experience and will be 6 month contract opportunity.
Main Responsibilities
* The 3D engineer or CAD Engineer will be responsible for the production of 2D or 3D drawings in line with programme and in strict adherence to customers specification and standards
* You will ensure project scope is satisfied efficiently and effectively, review Issued design and process documents.
* Work alongside design engineers to ensure designs are fit for purpose and identify design solutions and also work with clients and subcontractors on Peer to peer review of project drawings and documentation against specification requirements.
* As a CAD Design Engineer Raise and manage Technical Queries through to completion and help develop and maintain a good working relationship with clients and suppliers, including the identification, assessment, and integration of new sub-contractors.
* Witnessing factory acceptance tests and projects sign off, Support programming of design activities
* Issuing documentation to client and following through to ensure client acceptance within timeframes
Experience & Qualifications
* CAD Engineer will have minimum of a Degree, HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or similar
* Must be eligible to obtain SC clearance
* Strong, demonstrable understanding of all phases of a project life cycle
* Able to approach engineering challenges pragmatically and efficiently, working with electrical engineers to ensure the integrated design realises the operational requirements of the specification
* Able to use 2D or 3D drawing package, preferably AutoCAD
* Able to interpret detailed technical specifications
* Awareness of PLC's and working knowledge of principles of electrical safety, such as the 18th Edition and BS EN 13849
