A mainstream school in Lambourn, West Berkshire needs a Teaching Assistant - Full time to support SEN students from Reception to Year 6. Those select students struggle with behaviour for one reason or another, some have mental heath challenges verses other children difficult home lives. The one thing they all have a in common is they need someone to listen to their concerns, be able to redirect any negative behaviour - installing positive educational reinforcements.

This role will be a mixture of a 1:1 and potential outside classroom interventions, covering all the Lambourn KS2 year groups from Year 3 to Year 6.

£83.33 - £90 per day (depending on experience)

Term time only

Your Teaching Assistant - Full time daily duties:

  • Collaborating with the KS2 West Berkshire class teacher and other experienced staff members to educate the Lambourn, West Berkshire pupils.
  • Manage challenging behaviours that may arise, training and techniques will be given.
  • 1:1 (one-to-one) teaching support, where you may have to adapt the task to the child's needs/interests to communicate the information.
  • Identify potential triggers for the Lambourn, West Berkshire pupils in regard to their trauma and mental health needs, be able to offer an alternative focus to calm down the KS2 Student(s).

Teaching Assistant - Full time experience:

  • Working with children (eg. Tutoring): 1 year (preferred)

Qualifications:

  • GCSE (must have Maths and English) - Minimum grade 4/C (required)
  • 2:1 degree (Psychology, Sociology and Criminology (preferred, not required)
  • SEN certifications (preferred, not required)
  • Team Teach (desirable)
  • Be located in Lambourn, West Berkshire or able to commute daily.

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
