Embedded Technical Engineer required for an Electronics solutions provider (electronic components, embedded solutions, displays, printers, fans, etc) based in Reading. Now looking for an enthusiastic and keen person to join the engineering team. Ideally, we are looking for someone with hardware and embedded software experience and capabilities to strengthen our business development and engineering support services.
Embedded Technical Engineer - Electronics Job Overview- Embedded electronics and software design, testing and assembly work
- Requirements gathering and writing specifications
- Managing projects from start to completion
- Write and assist with technical tenders/proposals/quotations/drawings
- Research, investigate and provide technical information for potential projects/sales
- Act as design consultant to customers providing cost saving and ideas and suitable technical initiatives.
- Actively design and develop solutions based around IHL Embedded systems
- Develop and support Software based applications based around IHL/Customer applications
- Write and assist with technical tenders/proposals/quotations/drawings.
- Research, prepare, write and deliver Technical and Product Training to internal staff and customers where required.
- Defining the scope of the proposed project.
- Organising and implementing the project plan to achieve objectives
- Controlling and managing risks
- Ensuring successful completion of the project i.e. financial/commercial benefits and other objectives are delivered.
- Project manage, co-ordinate & communicate with customers, suppliers, and internal office team as required.
- Defining the scope of the proposed project.
- Assist with BS EN ISO9001:200 accreditations annually and at other times as and when required.
- Have a relevant qualification in Engineering (Electronics/Electrical) or related work experience in this field
- Have reasonable technical knowledge of embedded electronics and software to board level
- Project management experience and skills preferred
- Familiarity with various communication protocols and programming techniques (embedded programming skills preferred)
- Knowledge of SpaceClaim, 3D printing, AutoCAD, Java, Assembly, C/C++, Python, MATLAB, VHDL, PHP/HTML, Unix/Linux
- Understand electronic, electrical and quality terminology/parameters and key technologies used
- Have good organisational and time management skills
- Be a good communicator both written and verbal at all levels
- Be capable of hands-on problem solving with the ability to generate ideas and solutions
- Have strong proficiency with tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and CAD/CAM applications
- Salary dependent on experience but likely £40k-£45k
