Our client, a supplier in the aerospace industry, is currently seeking a Senior Electronics Design Engineer to join their team in Reading on a full-time, permanent basis. The role involves designing and implementing hardware solutions for aerospace products.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead design activities for circuits, PCBAs, and systems using Altium CAD
  • Work in a team on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Drive problem-solving activities and perform Root Cause Analysis investigations
  • Review and understand customer requirement specifications
  • Perform engineering calculations, circuit simulations, and tolerance analysis
  • Estimate, budget, and scope out new design concepts
  • Identify project risks and offer mitigation plans
  • Create, develop, store, and control PCBA designs and cable forms using Altium
  • Lead the engineering verification and validation processes, including DFMEA and DOE
  • Design and develop prototype circuits and test equipment
  • Understand international electrical and electronic specifications, including military standards


Job Requirements:

  • Experience in hardware, analogue, PCB, and electronics design
  • Understanding of PCB design standards and materials that comply with AS9100 and IPC standards
  • Knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes and MTBF calculations
  • Awareness of component obsolescence
  • Experience in a aerospace, defence or medical environment is beneficial
  • Leadership qualities, including leading and developing engineers
  • Knowledge in EMC design, FPGA development, and embedded development
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Degree in electrical/electronic engineering or equivalent qualification
