Job DescriptionService Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in Berkshire for a Finance Manager to join the team on a temporary basis. The postholder will be a key contributor to the 2025/26 budget and MTFS refresh and will support the Strategic Finance Manager in developing the medium-term financial planning and budget processes.

The key aim is delivery of longer-term financial sustainability in a complex and financially challenged authority. The role will also coordinate financial monitoring and reporting processes across the Council ensuring regular reporting to the council's leadership, improving current processes and ensuring that they are fit for purpose and provide information that aligns financial and service delivery, providing insights to decision-makers, working closely with Finance Business Partners, and coordinating processes for development of financial mitigations.

CandidateCriteria

  • CCAB/CIMA Qualified Accountant or Equivalent
  • Experienced in a senior finance role within a Local Authority
  • Experience of budget management and contributing to MTFS
  • Great communication skills with the ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team.
