Deputy Manager - Childrens EBD home

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum (plus additional sleep shift compensation)

Role Overview:
Joneshouse Recruitment is seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to support our client in delivering exceptional care to children and young people. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Registered Manager to shape and execute the home's Statement of Purpose. You will provide compassionate, high-quality care, advocate for young peoples well-being, and lead a dedicated team toward excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Registered Manager in ensuring smooth daily operations, meeting all regulatory requirements and the home's Statement of Purpose.
  • Uphold individual rights, promoting a respectful, inclusive, and safe care environment.
  • Supervise and mentor team members, facilitating professional growth and skill development.
  • Oversee care assessments and develop tailored care plans to meet young people's unique needs.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Manage administrative tasks, including rota organization, budget adherence, and regulatory documentation.
  • Actively foster positive, therapeutic relationships between adults, young people, and families.
  • Participate in on-call support, working flexible hours to meet evolving needs within the home.

Essential Requirements:

  • Diploma Level 5 in Leadership & Management (or working towards)
  • Diploma Level 3 in Children and Young People
  • Strong communication skills and teamwork abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of care plans and care requirements for looked-after children
  • Willingness to undertake additional training as needed

Schedule:
Flexible working hours, including office and shift work, to be agreed upon with the Registered Manager.
