This role is crucial for supporting the science department by preparing materials and equipment for laboratory sessions and ensuring a safe working environment for students and staff.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Prepare materials and equipment for science experiments and practical lessons.
  • Ensure that all laboratory equipment is functional and safe to use.
  • Assist in the maintenance and organization of science laboratories.
  • Support teachers and students during laboratory sessions.
  • Manage the stock of chemicals and laboratory supplies, ensuring that all materials are stored safely.
  • Implement health and safety protocols in the laboratories, including the disposal of chemicals and biological waste.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of equipment for special projects and events.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Science Technician within the UK.
  • Strong understanding of science laboratory procedures and safety regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, capable of supporting both staff and students.
  • Relevant qualifications in a science-related field are preferred.
