Head of Year- Humanities, French or Science Specialism Location: Reading   Contract: Permanent, Full Time  Salary: £31,650-£43,607 + TLR £5,531Hours: 8.00am-4.00pm OR 8.30am-4.30pmOur client has an exceptional school in Reading for young people with an Education Healthcare Plan (EHCP) for young with Autism spectrum Conditions and other associated complex needs.Seeking a Head of Year to join their team, this is a great opportunity to secure a role within a flourishing provision that can offer a range of great benefits.Duties to include but not limited to:-To contribute to the collective ethos of the school and Trust by requiring the highest professional standards from colleagues and behaviour from students.-To provide high quality leadership and management of an allocated year group, adopting and modelling a positive and solution focused approach to work, which puts maximising students’ life chances first.-To ensure effective and robust implementation of school and Trust policies.-To support all students in the year group to make exceptional progress, in the spirit of a no excuses culture, and to reduce any differences in performance linked to contextual issues.-To ensure the Personal, Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (PD) programme is delivered to the highest level (including through assemblies and enrichment days).-To liaise with colleagues across the school, Trust and in outside agencies as required.-To carry out such other associated duties as are reasonably assigned by the HeadteacherRequirements: -Experience of dealing with young people aged 11+, preferably within an educational context. -Recent experience of teaching your subject(s) at the relevant level(s).  -Involvement in the marking of GCSE and/or A level examination scripts for a recognised Awarding Body. -Knowledge of the requirements of the National Curriculum and specifications of examination courses. -Knowledge of GCSE and/or A level specifications and curriculum initiatives.  -An awareness of likely developments affecting the delivery of subjects at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 (where applicable). -Awareness of equal opportunities issues and how they can be tackled through teaching and learning strategies and other SEN provision. Benefits: -Discounted Gym membership-Cycle to work scheme -Wellness Hub-Employee assistance hub and counselling -Financial wellbeing support -Pension with life assurance -Shopping discounts-Eye Care-Perks Hub-Secondment opportunities -Priority school places-Flexi perks-Flu vaccination-Me day-Car parking
