Robert Half has partnered with a Transportation System company, seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is looking to bring in fresh ideas and make it their own. You will be responsible for driving positive outcomes for both the business and the employees, fostering a culture of engagement, well-being, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Engagement

  • Oversee and manage existing employee engagement initiatives
  • Develop and implement new strategies to enhance employee engagement
  • Foster a workplace culture that emphasises equality, diversity, and inclusion
  • Drive continuous improvements to the employee workplace experience

Health & Safety & Employee Well being

  • Collaborate with departments to improve health, safety, and overall employee well being
  • Plan and execute well being events to support employee health and morale

Legal & Compliance

  • Work closely with managers to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and employment law
  • Develop and update policies and procedures in line with legal changes
  • Prepare and complete D&I reporting

Performance Management

  • Provide support to line managers in managing disciplinary and grievance matters
  • Assist with the management of sickness absence and capability issues

Recruitment & Selection

  • Collaborate with departments to create job descriptions and person specifications
  • Manage the preparation of contracts and on boarding documentation for new hires

Development & Training

  • Support training and development initiatives for line managers and employees
  • Continuously seek professional development opportunities and participate in networking events

Administration & Record Keeping

  • Maintain accurate employee records, ensuring compliance with GDPR
  • Manage employee reference requests and other record-keeping tasks

Pension & Employee Benefits

  • Assist employees with accessing pension and employee benefits information
  • Promote employee awareness of benefits programs and implement new initiatives

Other

  • Assist with organising company events, such as Open Day and annual employee awards evening
  • Provide support for other ad-hoc HR events and activities as needed

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an HR Officer or Manager (5+ years preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of current UK employment law and best HR practices
  • CIPD qualification or degree-level qualification in HR preferred
  • Excellent organisational and multi-tasking abilities
  • High level of confidentiality and integrity
  • Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make difficult decisions
