IT Support Manager

IT Managed Services Provider in Reading

Salary: £55K (DOE)

Established for over 14 years, our client is a rapidly growing MSP which provides IT support & services to SMB's in and around Berkshire and London, specialising in Azure, Office 365 Stack, Cybersecurity Networking and VoIP telephony.

Position Overview:

The IT Support Manager will be leading a close-knit team of IT Helpdesk Engineers, ensuring efficient IT Service Delivery within ITIL standards, service delivery improvements and able to get hands-on technically when required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor a team of 5 Helpdesk Engineers, between 1st - 3rd line.
  • Handle 1st, 2nd and some 3rd line technical issues and delegate/escalate tickets to the correct Support Engineers
  • Facilitate ongoing training for the team.
  • Maintain strong client relationships, as well as speaking to potential new customers with the sales team when required
  • Track and analyse helpdesk performance metrics, ensuring the team respond to all tickets within Service Level Agreements (SLA)

Required Skills & Experience:

  • MSP experience is highly desirable
  • Proven track record managing/leading an IT Service Desk
  • Experience at a 1st-2nd Line level in a busy service desk environment
  • Strong technical background: proficiency with Office 365, Azure, SharePoint, Windows Server, Networking (switches, routers, firewalls), and VoIP knowledge
  • Strong leadership with great interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of ITIL frameworks (ideally with certifications) is beneficial
