My client are an IT consulting firm specialising in global software licensing and security services for major companies. They help clients manage their SAP software licenses more effectively, often reducing costs and avoiding future unplanned expenses. Our consultants excel in simplifying complex license agreements and analysing software usage, which enables our clients to achieve the best outcomes when negotiating directly with SAP.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a hard-working and enthusiastic Graduate to join the team in Reading. As part of our License Consulting team, you will receive comprehensive training from our Licensing Consultants, learning the intricacies of SAP software licensing, the commercial aspects of software purchasing, and how to establish a client’s SAP licensing position. You will assist senior team members in delivering projects and contribute to our long-term managed service clients.

By the end of the training program, you will be an SAP licensing expert capable of delivering complex projects to a diverse range of clients. You will also be adept at spotting sales opportunities and creating marketing materials to expand your professional network.

Responsibilities:

Year 1

  • Read and interpret client contracts, identify software licenses owned, and understand contractual clauses.
  • Analyse software usage data and verify and interpret the data received.
  • Summarise licenses owned versus licenses used and suggest next steps for clients.
  • Recommend opportunities to optimize a client’s software estate.
  • Support the development of commercial negotiation strategies.
  • Research the latest software licensing news and understand its impact on past, current, and future client engagements.
  • Utilise research to draft and publish licensing information articles for the company website.
  • Contribute to internal initiatives to improve service offerings and delivery efficiency.

Year 2

Understand and support the delivery of projects in advanced SAP licensing areas, including:

  • Impact of third-party applications connecting to SAP systems and emerging technologies like bots and IoT.
  • S/4HANA system changes and their long-term implications.
  • Defending clients in SAP license audits and determining where to negotiate or procure licenses.
  • Participate in client meetings to build trust and become a trusted advisor.

Year 3

  • Start managing projects and create marketing resources to build your external network.
  • Develop strong project management and relationship-building skills.
  • Identify up-selling opportunities with a commercial mindset.
  • Deliver webinars, write articles for potential new client engagement, and update the market on relevant changes.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • A quick learner with the ability to adapt.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is advantageous.
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset.
  • Some customer-facing experience is ideal but not essential

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educated to degree level.
  • 1-2 years of work experience is desirable but not essential.
