I am seeking a Garment Technologist to join a lovely fashion supplier in Berkshire!Our client, a leading supplier of high-quality childrenswear, is seeking a proactive and experienced Garment Technologist to join their dynamic team.Key Responsibilities:* Work with designers and manufacturers to ensure designs are technically feasible, cost-effective, and high-quality.* Conduct fabric tests to meet industry standards and regional regulations (e.g., REACH, fibre composition, product safety). Manage risk, testing, and resolve non-compliance issues.* Conduct fit sessions, assess construction, and provide detailed feedback for improvements.* Maintain accurate specifications, patterns, measurements, and production guidelines for suppliers.* Ensure garments meet specifications and quality standards throughout the production process.* Communicate with suppliers regarding garment construction, materials, and quality, offering technical support.* Inspect final garments to ensure they meet brand standards, conducting pre-shipment quality checks.* Work closely with internal and external teams to solve technical challenges and ensure smooth production processes.Who You Are:* Essential experience in children's/babywear with 3-4 years in a similar role.* Multi-product expertise and experience working directly with factories.* Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabric technology, and testing.* Pattern-cutting knowledge and familiarity with grading are highly desirable.* Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.* Confident in using Outlook, Excel, and Word with a willingness to expand technical skills.* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Are looking for an exciting new challenge in the fashion industry, we would love to hear from you!
