MERJE is seeking a highly skilled Senior Asset Manager for a leading bank in the retail banking sector. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team, managing and optimising the bank's asset portfolio. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in asset management within the financial services industry.

Your new role:

Reporting to the Head of Asset Finance Portfolio Management, you would be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Asset Managers within the asset Management team; driving continuous improvement to improve efficiencies; ensuring that a consistently high level of service is provided to key stakeholders; and building and sharing knowledge in relation to the assets financed by AF across the business.

This role is crucial in maintaining and enhancing the bank's asset portfolio, requiring strategic thinking and financial acumen.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Asset Manager:

  • Develop and implement asset management strategies
  • Day to day management of the Asset Managers and maximising their productivity through improved efficiencies
  • Analyse market trends and identify investment opportunities
  • Manage risk and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Managing SLA’s for both valuation and disposal of assets within agreed timescales
  • Developing sector and Asset reports for Key Asset and sales verticals
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise asset performance
  • Take responsibility for the development and content of the Asset forum and chairing monthly meetings as well as contributing to the AF Risk Forum, SAS Risk Forum and Credit committee as required
  • Provide regular reports and presentations to senior management

Our Ideal candidate:

  • 5 years plus proven experience in asset finance within the banking sector with specific management experience across a broad range of Asset categories including Commercial Vehicles, Construction, Plant and Machinery & others
  • SME Risk Management experience with an awareness of Asset Finance sector
  • Strong understanding of key drivers of Risks, losses and fraud in Asset Finance Market
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • In-depth knowledge of financial markets and regulatory frameworks
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Relevant qualifications in finance, economics, or a related field
