Senior Sustainability Manager | Reading / Oxford

If the answer to the above is yes, then you may be interested in the Senior Sustainability Manager role I am currently working on. The role is working with a major Principal Contractor who turnover in excess of 1bn and are currently engaged on a broad range of major projects. This position will be focused on specific high-profile projects within the Public Sector and Life-Sciences space.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Sustainability Manager will include:

  • Leading the development of each site's sustainability strategy; creating initiatives and tangible action points, to ensure efficient delivery across the project.
  • Ensuring the delivery of the sustainability policy, and compliance with legislation and regulations on site.
  • Leading the environmental sustainability program, working closely with key stakeholders including clients, contractors and regulators, to ensure their sustainability targets are met
  • Support the company's wider ambitions to reduce corporate carbon emissions.

The successful Senior Sustainability Manager requires:

  • Demonstrable environmental and sustainability experience within Construction, Civil Engineering, or related industry ideally in major projects.
  • Qualified in an appropriate environmental discipline and ideally hold a professional membership with a recognised environmental body (IEMA, CIEEM, CIWEM)
  • Proven knowledge in a range of Sustainability topics including carbon, energy, waste, water, responsible coursing, building design etc,
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate ideas throughout the organisation.
