Mechanical Engineer

Orion is partnered with a market-leading company that has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join the team. The Mechanical Engineer will provide electrical and mechanical engineering support for the commercialisation, application, and customisation of all products. .

What will you do as the Mechanical Engineer?

  • Conceptualize and implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM) / Test (DFT) / Assembly (DFA) and Full Turnkey solutions.
  • Support the engineering team tasked with the commercialization and launch of Starline designed products.
  • Perform engineering design tasks and provide feedback in support of customer specific customizations of Starline products.
  • Create technical documentation such as drawings, design instructions, purchasing specifications, O&M Manuals, installation instructions, work instructions and product catalogs.
  • Conduct testing required, verifying product performance, system integration and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Partner with Production, Quality, and Purchasing staff to assure product manufacturability.

Required for the Mechanical Engineer:

  • A Bsc or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience of 4 years plus in the engineering industry.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required up to 10%.
  • Experience using AutoCAD, Inventor.
  • Experience with an ERP system
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer satisfaction including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of project management processes and principles.
