We are seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer, specialising in water and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and experienced engineer to take a lead role in delivering high-impact projects within a growing and dynamic industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the design, planning, and execution of mechanical engineering aspects of projects.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to mechanical engineers and project teams, fostering knowledge and excellence within the team.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and team members, supporting their growth.
  • Lead the mechanical design of water and wastewater infrastructure, including P&IDs, valve schedules, pumps, tanks, process equipment, above-ground pipework, and lifting/access steelwork.
  • Coordinate with the wider design team, including Electrical, Civil, Geotech, and Process engineers.
  • Ensure adherence to client asset standards and engage in technical discussions regarding best practices and standards waivers.
  • Collaborate closely with commercial, operational, and construction teams to develop practical, efficient, and safe solutions throughout the design stages and construction phases.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, adopting a one-team approach to support their goals and objectives.

What You’ll Need:

  • Chartered Mechanical Engineer (or working towards Chartered status)
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, practices, and standards related to process industries, particularly the water sector
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple design tasks and meet deadlines
