JB294: Agricultural Service EngineerLocation: ReadingSalary: £35,000 DOE + company vehicleWorking Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am – 5pm. Friday 8am – 4pmOverview:Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration. This position would be excellent for someone from a REME background with experience working on military vehicles.This position will provide an opportunity to work on some fantastic vehicles, including cars, trucks and plant equipment and enhance your mechanical knowledge on the wider spectrum.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • You will be joining a very knowledgeable and friendly team. The work is technically challenging, and you will be working on some of the most advanced machinery in the market drawing heavily on your knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics and electrics.
  • Your key responsibilities would involve delivering comprehensive technical service, including: pre-delivery inspections, maintenance, fault diagnosis, repair, and rectification and overall exceptional technical service.
  • Much of the repair and service work is carried out on-site and so a fully expensed vehicle will be provided.
  • Service and repair of a range of Construction, Agricultural and Ground care machinery/equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and test vehicles utilising equipment available and using recognised test procedures and techniques.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork and documentation to the required standard.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A background in: Motor car/bike Industry, commercial vehicles including forklifts and lorries, REME, Marines, ground care maintenance, farming, any other industry that required you to be mechanically minded and practical.
  • An NVQ in Land Based Engineering is highly desirable, but most importantly, you will need to have a positive appreciation for the countryside and the unique demands of farming if you are to really fall in love with the job!
  • Technical Apprenticeship preferred or 3-5 years’ Service industry experience in an Engineering based role.
  • Good attention to detail with excellent problem-solving attributes.
  • Customer Focused and engaging with strong communication skills.
  • Confident, driven, possessing a desire to ensure high standards are always met.
  • Training will be provided.
  • Full UK Driving licence.
