As a Compliance Manager, you will lead a pivotal role in the company and would be responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and certifications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, research laboratories and the office. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement company policies and regulations
- Oversee all business operations relating to compliance including policies and procedures
- Design and monitor control systems to deal with violations of legal rules and internal policies
- Regularly assess the efficiency of control systems and recommend effective improvements
- Review and evaluate company procedures and reports to identify hidden risks or common issues
- Coordinate with different department managers to review all departmental compliance policies
- Perform periodic audits on company procedures and processes
- Advise management on the company’s compliance with laws and regulations through detailed reports
The client is currently ISO 9001 and 14001 accredited and are working towards a 45001 certification in 2025. They also have annual Halal and Kosher audits on our processes / products. All the compliance work will need to feed into these accreditations and ensure that they are fully compliant across all areas of the business.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., chemistry, engineering, environmental science) would be required.
- Proven experience as a Compliance Manager or similar senior compliance role within the chemical manufacturing industry.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and certifications.
- Strong understanding of environmental, health, and safety regulations and practices.
- Experience working to and implementing ISO accreditation would be highly desirable.
This role is on site and would require someone to be able to commute to site daily (easily reachable by train or bus and parking is available). The client is not able to sponsor and so you must be eligible to work in the UK.
