My client is an asset maintenance and concrete/steel repairs contractor specialising in structural solutions including bridge deck waterproofing, expansion joints, concrete repairs, cathodic protection works, steel repairs, strengthening work, temporary works, jacking and bearing replacements.

Due to continued growth my client is looking to recruit a Planner to join their successful team in Reading and work on various construction and civil engineering projects in the aviation, energy, environmental, highways, marine, rail and water sectors.

Reporting into the Planning Manager, candidates will be responsible for a varied workload of tender and live schemes across the Southern Region.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with the Tender Team to establish the construction sequence for each tender and prepare tender programmes and graphics to suit, plus pricing preliminaries.
  • Attending tender interviews as required including input into presentations.
  • The development of Contract, Construction and Design & Procurement programme.
  • The preparation of sequence graphics for live projects, including detailed subcontract information.
  • Regular site visits to monitor progress against the Contract programme and attendance at meetings as necessary.
  • Assessment of the programme impact of variations where necessary.
  • The preparation of Completion Programmes.

Successful candidate will possess:

  • BEng or HNC in Civil Engineering.
  • Technical engineering background.
  • IT proficiency with MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint) and Primavera P6 planning software.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of construction detailing and management.
  • Exceptional communication, organisation and leadership skills.
  • Valid UK driving licence to enable travel to live sites across the region.
  • Strong customer focus with customer service skills.
