Technical Services Manager - Reading Area
43,000 to 48,000 per annum
Permanent | Full Time | Office-Based

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Technical Services Manager to join a well-established technology solutions provider based near Reading. This role is ideally suited to someone with a solid background in warehouse and repair operations, strong technical knowledge, and team leadership experience.

The successful candidate will take ownership of managing all technical service operations, including repairs, returns, stock allocation, process improvement, and documentation. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, this is a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and high levels of customer satisfaction.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage technical support calls and contribute to bid management using your technical expertise.

  • Oversee the allocation, dispatch, and tracking of stock and returned items.

  • Monitor and update customer systems and ensure accurate Proof of Delivery (POD) records.

  • Lead the triage process for returned equipment and manage the RMA/warranty process.

  • Maintain tools and test equipment to a high standard.

  • Carry out diagnostic testing on network and IT equipment.

  • Create and maintain process documentation and introduce new procedural improvements as needed.

  • Develop training plans and conduct appraisals for team members.

  • Engage with wider business projects involving stock and warranty management.

  • Lead and manage the technical services team to meet departmental goals.



Skills & Experience:

  • Proven ability to analyse information and solve problems effectively.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • High level of IT literacy, including confidence with Microsoft Office and internal systems.

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.

  • Ability to handle a busy workload and meet tight deadlines under pressure.

  • Previous experience in a similar RMA, warehouse, or repair services management role is highly desirable.
