Our client, a key player in the water sector, is currently seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to join their team in the Thames Valley region. This permanent role involves overseeing various Thames Water projects, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction are maintained.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring adherence to safe working practices by monitoring and mentoring the team and supply chain.
  • Monitoring sub-contract work quality to meet Thames Water asset standards and project specifications.
  • Resolving site technical queries through liaison with the Design and Project Engineering teams.
  • Supporting Site Managers with client liaison, attending meetings, and reporting progress.
  • Liaising with the supply chain to provide technical support and ensure efficient operation of equipment.
  • Maintaining a site diary to record work activities and resources used.
  • Ensuring all site activities comply with internal and external Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
  • Maximising efficient use of manpower and resources, minimizing abortive works to contribute to site profitability.
  • Maintaining good working relationships with the client's on-site staff during installations.
  • Ensuring compliance with C.D.M. Regulations and company safe working practices.
  • Assisting in the preparation and review of Method Statements, Lift Plans, Action Plans, and Risk Assessments.
  • Holding collaborative planning sessions to maintain programme commitments and managing project blockers effectively.
  • Maintaining accurate records and managing change control with site installation works.


Job Requirements:

  • Experience in clean and wastewater mechanical installation and commissioning.
  • Capability of being appointed as authorised person for isolation and permit to work purposes.
  • Responsibility for installation supervision and assisting with the commissioning of mechanical equipment.
  • Responsibility for equipment alignment checks, pressure testing, and other mechanical quality assurance issues on site.
  • Mechanical Engineering qualification, Site supervisors' qualification, and CSCS card.
  • Experience in the water industry from a main contractor background is essential.
  • SMSTS certification.
