Our client, a leading company in the water industry, is currently seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to join their team in the Thames Valley region on a permanent basis. This role is essential for overseeing mechanical operations on Thames Water projects, ensuring both quality and safety standards are consistently met.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to safe working practices by monitoring and mentoring the team and supply chain.
  • Monitor the quality of sub-contract work to meet Thames Water asset standards and project specifications.
  • Resolve site technical queries through liaison with the Design and Project Engineering teams.
  • Support Site Managers with client liaison by attending meetings and reporting progress.
  • Liaise with the supply chain for technical support and information to ensure efficient operation of equipment.
  • Maintain a site diary to record work activities and resources used.
  • Ensure all site activities meet internal company standards and external regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to site profitability by maximising efficient use of manpower and plant resources.
  • Maintain good working relationships with the client's on-site staff during installation activities.
  • Ensure compliance with C.D.M. Regulations and company safe working practices.
  • Assist in the preparation/review of Method Statements, Lift Plans, Action Plans, and Risk Assessments.
  • Participate in collaborative planning sessions to maintain programme commitments.
  • Maintain accurate records and manage change control with site installation works.


Job Requirements:

  • Experience in clean and wastewater mechanical installation and commissioning.
  • Capability of being appointed as an authorised person for isolation and permit to work purposes.
  • Responsibility for installation supervision and supporting/assisting with commissioning of mechanical equipment.
  • Experience in equipment alignment checks, pressure testing, and other mechanical quality assurance issues on site.
  • Relevant Mechanical Engineering qualification and site supervisors' qualification.
  • CSCS card.
  • Essential water industry experience from a main contractor background.
  • SMSTS qualification.
