Are you a talented and experienced Quantity Surveyor looking for a new opportunity? We have an exciting 6-month appointment with the possibility of extension, offering a mix of remote and on-site working with flexible hours.

About the Role

Position: Quantity Surveyor
Duration: 6 months (with possible extension)
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: Reading area
Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Responsibilities

Effective cost control of housing projects
Preparation of estimates and contract documentation
Financial management of contractors and suppliers
Ensuring payments comply with Council regulations
Developing, managing, and operating Schedule of Rates
Monitoring external contractor/supply chain costs
Providing professional and technical advice to Councillors and Officers
Managing tender procedures, assessments, and contract documents
Overseeing the trade productivity scheme

Requirements

Relevant industry qualification (RICS/BSc/HND/HNC)
Experience in procurement and contract management
Budgetary control experience
Knowledge of statutory legislation and building regulations
Experience with social housing projects is advantageous
