This is a great opportunity for an experienced Estate Manager to join a large estate in Reading as an Estate/Household Manager. You will work with an extensive team of household staff, as well as farm and vineyard staff. You will become a main point of contact for the Principal and the family.

Responsibilities

  1. Communication and Engagement:
    • Engage effectively with site staff, contractors, and consultants to continuously improve the efficiency, quality, and value of the property.
    • Ensure that all operational requirements, property rules, regulations, and health and safety standards are clearly communicated, understood, and followed.
    • Respond promptly to queries or complaints, addressing these constructively and striving for timely resolutions.
  2. Maintenance and Quality Control:
    • Maintain the highest level of cleaning, security, and maintenance quality standards throughout the property.
    • Ensure high standards of presentation, quality, and visual appearance throughout the estate.
  3. Financial Management:
    • Assist in preparing and delivering budgets.
    • Provide detailed reports for any insurance claims, remedial works, or improvements.
  4. Operational Oversight:
    • Track, measure, and report on all relevant site operations, recommending improvements as needed.
    • Oversee the efficient administration of all supporting services for the property, including HR, finance, property management, health and safety, security, utilities, and insurance.
  5. Strategic and Development Planning:
    • Plan and implement all development projects within agreed budgets and timeframes.
    • Develop and implement an estate-wide strategic plan, including the management of woodland, vineyards, amenity grassland, water bodies, gardens, and other estate projects.
  6. Human Resource Management:
    • Effectively manage all staff based on the property, ensuring a motivated and efficient workforce.
    • Responsible for all health and safety procedures on the estate, ensuring compliance and safety at all times.

Key skills

  • At least 5 years of experience working within a facilities or estate management environment at a supervisory or management level.
  • Experience working with high-net-worth clients is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, well-presented and well-spoken, with a positive approach to work.
  • IOSH and NEBOSH qualifications would be an advantage.
  • Russian language skills would be a big plus.
  • A valid UK driving license would be an advantage.
  • Flexibility to work on Saturdays and Sundays as needed.
