The Aldermaston Role - SEN Classroom Assistant

You'll be working 1:1 and in small groups, supporting children with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including:

  • Autism (ASD), ADHD, and Social & Emotional Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Speech & Language difficulties and communication delays
  • Children with EHCPs needing academic and emotional support
  • Personal care support, including toileting for children who need assistance

As an SEN Classroom Assistant, you will work with a diverse range of students, each with unique strengths and challenges. Your role will involve:

  • Running SEN interventions for students with a variety of needs, including those with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), ADHD, dyslexia, and non-verbal communication challenges.
  • Working with academically gifted students on the autism spectrum who may struggle with social interactions but excel in certain subjects, helping them develop confidence and independence.
  • Collaborating with SENCOs, teachers, and therapists to create a supportive and structured learning environment tailored to individual student needs.
