A Specialist School in Reading are looking for a Nurture/Intervention Teacher to join their innovative team. The school supports children aged 11-16 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges, as well as behavioural difficulties. All students have a designated EHCP, detailing their specific needs. The pupils at this school struggle to form healthy relationships and can present high levels of anxiety, low self-esteem and challenging behaviour.
As a Nurture/Intervention Teacher, you will:
- Deliver the primary curriculum as intervention lessons, bridging gaps in learning, whilst building confidence and self-esteem.
- Deliver a range of subjects, including Maths and English.
- Manage behaviours during the school day.
- Maintain progress records.
- Participate in both on-site and external training.
The school are looking for a Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), and the ability to work with all Key Stages. This opportunity is open to more experienced teachers or recent graduates that are keen to kick-start their career in special needs.
