Belcan Workforce Solutions is currently looking for a Commissioning Manager to work for one of our clients based in Reading, UK.

You will require 'Right to Work' in UK, unfortunately no sponsorship will be available for this role.

Overview: Lead the Mechanical and PPE Commissioning Team and oversee the commissioning activities of the Supply Chain. Ensure compliance with Nuclear Licence Conditions, Quality Management System, and Project Delivery processes and procedures. Manage project commissioning activities to meet quality, cost, resource, program, and acceptance criteria.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strong working relationships with all commissioning stakeholders, including the Client Commissioning Manager, Client Operators and Maintainers, Supply Chain Specialists, Engineering team, Assurance Team, Requirements, Human Factors, Quality, Construction, Completion, and Handover teams.
  • Understand Client User Requirements and Safety Commissioning Schedule.
  • Participate in the design process (e.g., Hazard and Operability Studies, design assessments) to assist design teams in producing safe and operable designs.
  • Ensure testing and commissioning are planned and executed safely, maintaining responsibility for the health and safety of all personnel under your control.
  • Assist in developing the detailed construction schedule to support phased release of works for commissioning activities.
  • Liaise between the Site Construction team and the Client on all commissioning-related matters.
  • Supervise and guide the Supply Chain and their Vendors providing Commissioning Services to the Project.
  • Ensure test and quality documentation produced by Vendors are adequate to deliver fully tested systems with evidence of System and Safety requirements.
  • Ensure Supply Chain contractors execute tests in accordance with Project procedures.
  • Supervise the safe pre-commissioning/commissioning of the plant in line with project requirements.
  • Feedback technical data obtained during commissioning to Engineering departments to ensure continuous improvements in design.
  • Report on Project Commissioning status and metrics.
  • Ensure adherence to procedures for all commissioning works to comply with Nuclear Licence Conditions and Client Commissioning Operating Procedures.
  • Champion efficient and safe processes to facilitate early completion of Construction and handover to Commissioning through the Completion database with clear, defined boundaries.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in commissioning mechanical systems.
  • Degree qualified or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Nuclear experience is desirable.
