Role: Lead UI Designer Salary: £55'000 Location: Berkshire HQ - 3 days p/w

The Lead UI Designer will work alongside brand colleagues, digital product owners, local country marketing functions, insight and analytics colleagues to identify and deliver a design led (digital) customer experience. You will be shaping the Design System using Figma and will act as the Design knowledge source for Product, Development and Data.

Experience Required

  • A strong, well-curated portfolio demonstrating UI expertise (and an ability to talk through projects outlining involvement and value)
  • Prior involvement in design projects in a commercial environment
  • Competent with industry standard software; Adobe XD and Figma
  • Working knowledge of heat mapping and session recording tools used to analyse user behaviours.
  • Ability to use both quant and qual insight to inform decision-making
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively using design thinking methodology
  • Understand the bigger picture when it comes to brand strategy, consolidating insights from user research, long term company goals and product development
  • Can demonstrate an understanding of core UI principles and how these influences and guides great UI design decision.

Key Responsibilities

Brand CX

  • Work alongside the central Brand team and local Marketing teams to understand the brand promises.
  • Identify how these brand promises can be delivered across our digital products, identifying differences in experience across multiple brands
  • Support the Group Brand Manager in maintenance of the brand guidelines (on and offline) as required
  • Customer champion and user experience Champion the use of customer insight to inform decisions, ensuring that there is a clear rationale for the teams' work
  • Champion the use of design thinking techniques where appropriate
  • Embed a culture of 'customer first' thinking for digital products
  • Work closely with Product Owners, and the Digital analytics team to identify, iterate and test UX improvements and measure the effectiveness of UX
  • Deep dive into existing user interactions and evaluate feedback

Design and UI

  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineer
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and sitemaps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
  • Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive-level stakeholders
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards
  • Lead the creation of the digital and offline design guidelines, design system and user guides which are used across multiple product scrum teams, local marketing teams and external agencies

Prototyping

  • Take responsibility for the creation of prototypes (on and offline) for new concepts, including visualisation to help leaders understand options and implications
  • Obtain user feedback (internal and external) to improve and refine design concepts
