Strategic Procurement Specialist

Our client, a global engineering leader, is looking for a Strategic Procurement Specialist to join their growing team at their site in Redditch. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-performing procurement function, driving cost-saving initiatives and ensuring efficient and resilient supply chain operations.
Working as part of the Strategic Procurement team, the successful candidate will lead supplier negotiations, support inventory and working capital targets, and play a key role in improving supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate strategic cost-down initiatives
- Conduct supplier negotiations to achieve PPV and NWC targets
- Support operations teams in mitigating supply chain risks
- Work collaboratively to improve supplier KPIs (quality, delivery, cost)
- Analyse procurement data to identify opportunities for efficiency and savings
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Exposure to OEM or automotive sectors would be advantageous
- Strong understanding of ERP/MRP logic (ideally SAP)
- Working knowledge of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting
- CIPS qualification or equivalent (preferred)
- Degree level education or equivalent (preferred)
- Flexibility to travel internationally on occasion (Les than 25%)
This is a site-based role in Redditch, commutable from Bromsgrove, Droitwich, Worcester, Solihull, Kidderminster, and South Birmingham.
