Finance Business Partner - Redditch/Hybrid - £50k & Car/Car allowance & great benefits

Benjamin Edwards are recruiting for a Finance Business Partner to join a thriving international business with sites across the Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and forward-thinking individual to support the development of, and embed a strong business partnering culture, offering own ideas and initiative. As Finance Business Partner, you will support and drive performance management across the UK sites with robust financial control and forecasting/planning principles. You will also support a number of ad hoc projects.

The role of the Finance Business Partner

  • Develop a strong "support & challenge" mentality with the local site management, to drive local business performance and development on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
  • Work collaboratively with local site management to develop any required financial reporting and analysis tools that may help the site leadership teams become better informed to make good decisions
  • Contact for local site related audits and finalisation of all local statutory financial statements
  • Ownership of consolidated local weekly and monthly management accounts production with a high level of accuracy, timeliness and integrity to ensure the local business can make good decisions
  • Ensuring the month end timetable is strictly managed to ensure timely production of key monthly accounts
  • Analysis of site overheads and other key KPI’s to ensure local management can adequately understand operating costs
  • Support with the preparation of monthly management packs and KPI reports for internal site and country meetings and board reporting, with an appropriate level of analysis and commentary
  • Review of balance sheet reconciliations. Where appropriate, provide guidance for improved balance sheet controls approach and highlight actions required.
  • Supporting the CFO and Group FD with implementation of a group-wide risk and control framework (consistent balance sheet reviews, annual testing framework etc)
  • Support the FD with the local development, communication of, and roll out of a new quarterly forecast process
  • Act as the single point of contact to ensure alignment with central finance team for budget and forecast timetables and deadlines and reporting requirements, including development of standardised reporting templates for the forecast process
  • Manage local site level budget and forecast inputs appropriately to ensure full alignment of commercial and operational information, provided in an accurate and timely manner and also challenge appropriately (e.g. overheads, margin variances)
  • Provide insight and analysis at an appropriate level of detail for all key P&L and balance sheet variances, by site, for latest forecast variances to budget and prior year
  • Own the budget, forecast and long-term capex planning process, working closely with leadership to ensure sufficient insight and analysis to support capital investment decision making
  • Support long-range forecasting and planning exercises
  • Support for local implementation of systems for new/recent acquisitions
  • Supporting FD with implementation of new projects at a local level, such as cashflow forecasting, capex approval process, group financial controls matrix
  • Improve financial reports/dashboards at a local level including development of more automated KPI’s

The ideal candidate for the role of Finance Business Partner

  • ACCA/ACA/CIMA part or fully qualified
  • Experience of a finance role, ideally supporting and challenging business performance
  • Food industry or supply chain experience preferred
  • Commercial and operational interest and inquisitiveness in order to keep understanding and challenging business ways or operating
  • Have a valid driving license as travel to sites will be critical
