ABC Teachers is seeking an experienced Behavioural Support Assistant to work in an SEN School in Redditch on a full-time basis.

About the role:

  • Working with Primary and Secondary aged pupils.
  • The Behaviour Support Assistant will play a pivotal role in supporting students with their social, emotional, and behavioural development within the school setting.
  • Support students in understanding and regulating their emotions, promoting self-awareness and self-regulation skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a consistent and supportive approach to behaviour management.

About the school:

  • Working with young people with a variety of Special Educational Needs with Social Emotional Mental Health difficulties including Autism, ADHD, Attachment Disorder and Learning difficulties.
  • All pupils will be provided with opportunities for learning that are engaging, relevant, and they will have the opportunity to voice their opinions in a positive environment.
  • Staff take learning beyond the classroom and help pupils to learn in a safe space where they can be understood.

About you:

To be considered for the Behavioural Support Assistant position, you will:

  • Have previous experience working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs, such as learning difficulties, autism, and sensory needs.
  • Suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
  • Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students
  • Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
