Are you highly organised with strong administrative skills? Looking to kick-start your career in the construction industry? We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Plant Controller to join our client’s dynamic Plant team!

About the Role

As a Trainee Plant Controller, you’ll play a crucial part in supporting our client’s construction teams by arranging plant, tools, and machinery across various sites. You’ll undergo training with experienced professionals to ensure you develop the knowledge and skills required to succeed.

You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same—managing plant requirements, coordinating fuel supplies, and supporting regional operations.

 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Training alongside the Senior Plant Controller and wider team to oversee plant requirements.
  • Collaborating with Site and Contracts Managers to support productivity across projects.
  • Managing the supply of gas oil and diesel for machinery across multiple sites.
  • Negotiating with diesel suppliers to secure competitive rates.
  • Coordinating the distribution of essential items across regional sites.
  • Handling site mixer requirements and ensuring smooth business operations.
  • Providing general administrative support to the Plant department.

 

Skills & Experience Needed:

  • Proven administrative skills, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
    Strong organisational and coordination abilities.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Experience in groundworks or construction is desirable but not essential.
    A proactive approach to learning and development.
