Salary up to £36,000 per annum, depending upon experience plus competitive benefits package.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of purchasing functions for goods and raw materials.
- Negotiate lead times with vendors and swiftly resolve supplier issues.
- Expedite orders to maintain production schedules, actively participating in shortage meetings.
- Review material quantities and promptly communicate any issues to management.
- Support business improvement initiatives through Lean and 5S activities.
- Strategically plan and execute material purchase orders to meet customer demand and company objectives.
- Investigate and approve supplier invoice discrepancies.
- Drive supplier delivery performance through KPI tracking and regular reviews.
Experience Required:
- CIPS Certification (Or equivalent).
- Strong background in casting and machining, including subcontract machine shop management.
- Demonstrated experience in materials management and purchasing within a manufacturing setting.
- Proficiency in SAP.
- Familiarity with scheduling, MRP, MPS, and consignment stocking.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and initiative.
- Effective communication skills with all organisational levels and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a small team.
This position is based in Redditch and is easily commutable from Bromsgrove, Studley, Alcester, Droitwich, Alvechurch, Evesham, Birmingham, Solihull, Worcester, Kidderminster and Stourbridge.
