Technical Product Manager

We have an opportunity for an experienced Product Manager from a technical background to join a successful, growing Satellite Communications organization.

In this role you will work with the organization and wider teams translating their technology into commercial offerings that are customer and benefits led. You will be the technical product champion for the organizations products and services both internally and externally. You will act as an SME ensuring sales and other departments are kept fully up to date with current and future offerings.

Eligibility for UK SC level security clearance will be required for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce/ translate technical content into customer/ benefits led output including for bids, white papers, brochures, application notes, user guides, technical service updates and input for press releases.
  • Assist in defining go-to market strategy, helping Head of Product and Marketing and Commercial Product Manager understand the technical product positioning, key benefits, and target customers.
  • Work with Marketing and Communications to ensure suitable and up to date marketing and sales collateral, user guides, FAQ's, sales benefits and fact sheets
  • In liaison with Head of Product produce product marketing plans and value-added services to ensure the organization becomes one of the leading providers in our specified markets.
  • In liaison with Marketing and Communications assist in the product marketing launch of new products and services
  • Conduct market research and ongoing client consultation to specify market requirements for current and future products
  • Drive new products or services across the wider company and teams.
  • Undertake product evaluations and work closely with Systems Engineering teams to provide technical product expertise in launching new products and services.
  • Provide technical product support in customer meetings, demos, and events
  • Requirements capture for internal and external software development projects.
  • Project Management of in-house projects
  • Conduct internal training course for both sales, support, and other relevant back-office functions.
  • Product competitor analysis and comparison. Production of collateral to be used for internal and external purposes.
  • Manage hardware manufacturers for technology products and determine new product capabilities and how they integrate with organization products and infrastructure.

Key skills and experienced required:

Essential

  • Experienced within Technical Product Management.
  • Good knowledge of IP networking
  • Mobile Satcoms, communications or technology experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Used to managing hardware suppliers and assessing new and existing product capabilities
  • Requirements capture and application
  • Project Management experience
  • Flexible, customer focused and self-motivated and team player
  • Willingness and ability to learn quickly
  • Intermediate level or above with Word/Powerpoint/Excel
  • Must be organised, methodical and a good multi-tasker.
  • Occasional business travel
