We are partnering with a FMCG business seeking a New Product Development Manager to join their team of experts in Surrey. Our client, renowned in their industry, collaborates with many of the world's top brands to deliver high-quality items and putting customers first.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and self-motivated New Product Development Manager to join a proactive and dedicated team. It is important that not only is our client a great fit for you, but that you are a good fit for them. Here is what you need for the role:

  • Degree in a related field, with relevant experience in food manufacturing environments
  • Proven experience in leading a product development team
  • Strong understanding of outsourced production environments and contract manufacturing
  • Demonstrated project management skills with a track record of meeting both operational and financial targets

You will play a vital role within the team and will be responsible for innovative product creation. An average day will look like this:

  • Follow project plans and company guidelines to make sure product development goes smoothly.
  • Work with a cross-functional team to ensure products meet customer needs and quality standards.
  • Develop and present creative product and packaging ideas to clients that match their requirements, prices, and profit goals.
  • Oversee the development of new products from concept to production, ensuring they meet culinary standards and stay within budget.
  • Plan and manage factory trials, solve problems, and make sure production runs smoothly. Coordinate with others to identify and reduce risks during product launches.
  • Work with manufacturers to set up production processes, ensuring quality standards are met during development and manufacturing.
  • Help approve new suppliers and manage the onboarding process for new manufacturers.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with suppliers, understanding their capabilities to improve product development.
  • Support the culinary team by organizing taste tests and evaluating product preparation methods.
  • Offer culinary and technical support to project teams as needed
